So no one told you life was gonna be this way?

I am going random today. You don’t have to read this.

1. I can be a total klutz sometimes; yesterday I cut my finger with a fruit peeler while peeling mango (I was making jeruk!) and burned myself while ironing the Husband’s shirt. Kini ada kesan yang hodoh.

2. This is totally uninformative, but Ayin and I are crazy about:
(a) Destinasi Bajet’s cool host. Watch him on 8TV, Wednesday 9.30 p.m.
(b) Ross and Rachel’s adorable daughter Emma. Gigit jom!

3. And speaking of FRIENDS (which everyone knows is my all-time favourite comedy), I think Joey and Rachel makes a very cute couple.

4. And speaking of Ayin; she is flying to London in a few days and I am so excited for her! (and jealous too hehehe) Ketik foto banyak-banyak ya, dong!

5. I am fasting and naturally, I am already thinking of what to have for berbuka puasa. I did not cook yesterday (the Husband membelikanku Nasi Ayam before he went off to play badminton with his colleagues) but I did bake some dodgy-looking (but yummy!) cupcakes to satisfy my craving. Today I’m thinking Cucur Udang. But I don’t have daun kucai dan tauge. Belasah sajalah. Bukankah ingredient utamanya cuma tepung dan udang?

6. If you have the chance untuk membaca Jigs and Reels (it is a compilation of short stories), anda perlu membaca The Ugly Sister, iaitu kisah Cinderella dari pandangan the Cinderella’s step-sister. Sungguh menarik.

7. And speaking of a spin-off; for a show that is created by the same people behind Grey’s Anatomy (which everyone knows is one of my favourite drama), I think Private Practice is a major disappointment. They succeeded in making Addison, a very strong character from Grey’s, menjadi begitu membosankan. Oh and Addison’s love interest, Tim Daly is not even that hot.

8. And is it okay that I still think that Mike Delfino is the hottest guy on TV?

Seriously people, you're still reading? Hehehe I tabik you for reading sehingga tamat. Have a good day, y'all!

"Pleasure is spread through the earth
in stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find"

~ William Wordsworth, 1806

Current Love

Current Bedtime Read

Current Addiction

Aaah life is good. But I've got to start working real soon; contributing to the society but mainly, contributing to the household income. Ngeee. Extra cash wouldn't hurt anyone, huh? Saya percaya, life will still be good walaupun berubah. Maybe even better? So time to get my a$$ out of this comfy couch!

And in the words of the great English novelist, Charles L. Morgan, "The art of living does not consist in preserving and clinging to a particular mode of happiness, but in allowing happiness to change its form without being disappointed by the change; happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow up." Indeed :)

The belly rules the mind ~ Spanish Proverb

So much for vowing to eat healthier. I made Nasi Lemak for brunch yesterday, complete with sambal sotong dan udang dan ayam goreng. We even had the left-over caramel pudding for dessert. Later in the evening we had chicken macaroni at the MIL’s. At 11.30 p.m, I had bread and cheese and iced chocolate for dinner (I had to, I was planning to fast today). Healthy sangatlah, huh? Owh! To top that of, we didn’t even go for the weekly jogging we promised ourselves we'd do. Woohoo! Ngeee.

Don't let me start on the meals we've been having the whole last week. You can read about them all di
Foodie Blog saya. In my defence, setidak-tidaknya, they're home-cooked meals. Bukankah lebih baik? And in Sharel's words, ia disediakan dengan 'peluh cinta'. Ngeee.

But I’m fasting today; untuk membersihkan perut saya (juga hati, tentunya) And I just cleaned the house. I read somewhere that household chores burn calories. So I guess I’ll be okay. Hahaha yalah tu.

Now I’m already thinking of what to have for fast-breaking. I’m thinking chicken. Ada any idea of resipi masakan ayam yang sedap?

I've never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful

Ngeee. But I like it. Recommended.

Saya tidak pernah mempunyai maskara. Tapi saya suka eyeliner.

I swear by ZA Sunblock. Rumusannya tidak berminyak dan
saya percaya ia berkesan menangkis sinaran.

Hahaha).

Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Balm. Suka!

Perfume kegemaran saya DKNY Apple "Delicious" serta perfume hadiah hantaran perkahwinan Vera Wang "Princess" telah dirompak. Sob sob.

I just don't see why I should spend the little money that I have on such ketidakperluan. Tapi jika saya banyak wang, tentu saya mahu!

Kaki saya juga tiada penjagaan khusus melainkan saya almost always memakai tumit rendah. Saya sungguh menyukai Mary Jane Crocs saya
serta selipar-selipar saya. Sungguh selesa.

Ini tangan saya ketika upacara membatalkan air sembahyang.
Tidak seperti sahabat saya
Naem, saya malas menjaga tangan saya.

Ngeee.

Fairytales don't always have a happy ending, do they?

My take on relationship is fairly straightforward. When one is not happy, one should walk out of it. One only got one life to live, so why waste it being unhappy? I walked out from my previous relationships to be happy and alhamdulillah, I am now. Because an ending is another beginning, I thank myself for walking out, both times.

A troubled friend came to me with her relationship problem recently and all I wanted to do was scream “Just walk out before it’s too late!” but I couldn’t bring myself to do so because I can see she is still so much in love.

Tetapi saya tahu, sometimes it’s easier said than done. Itu sebab saya kata, before it is too late, jika benar-benar tidak gembira, sila lari.

Betul, every relationship has its ups and downs but I believe in the end, it all comes down to whether or not you are happy. And happy, well, being happy is purely subjective.

But then again, what do I know? But Mary Alice (from Desperate Housewives) had something to say about it:

"Have you met the perfect couple? The two soul mates whose love never dies? The two lovers whose relationship is never threatened. The husband and wife who trust each other completely. If you haven't met the perfect couple, let me introduce you. They stand atop a layer of butter cream frosting. The secret of their success? Well, for starters, they don't have to look at each other."

Ngeee. Bukankah benar?

Hear your heart. Heart your health.

In an attempt to be leaner and healthier:

(a) On Sunday, the Husband and I went jogging at one of my favourite places in JB, the beautiful Kebun Bunga [Photo Credit: BuduBoy]. We vow to do this more often, we do we do we do. Ngeee.

(b) We vow to eat healthier; less outside foods, less oil-based cooking, less carbohydrate. We are trying, we are, we really are. Ngeee.

Eat healthier without compromising keenakannya; seperti ikan udang sotong bakar, grilled chicken, good home-made snacks, chicken porridge dsb.

Speaking of my favourite places in JB, Pasar Borong Pandan which we frequent once in 2-3 weeks is one of it. We go there for fresh, cheaper barang basah. So much cheaper that 1 kg of udang that costs RM19 in kedai runcit would cost RM12 there. Selalunya it would only cost the Husband RM100 untuk belanja bagi 2 buah rumah (ours and the In Laws’). Clearly. kami begitu obsess dengan kemurahannya. Hehe.

Okay peeps, I'm ending this entry with this sound advice from A. Cornelius Celsus, a Roman encyclopedist and physician, on living your life:

Live in rooms full of light
Avoid heavy food
Be moderate in the drinking of wine
Take massage, baths, exercise, and gymnastics
Fight insomnia with gentle rocking or the sound of running water
Change surroundings and take long journeys
Strictly avoid frightening ideas
Indulge in cheerful conversation and amusements
Listen to music.

“What doesn't kill you makes you stranger."

Hands down, IMO, the much anticipated The Dark Knight is one of the best movies of 2008! Why? Well well, where do I start?

(1) (The late) Heath Ledger’s chilling performance as the Joker? Man, he was better than I’ve heard and as good as I had hoped! But I guess you already know that.

(2) The thought-provoking moral complexity, the comic, the intense action sequences, the brilliant dialogue; the movie gave me the satisfaction of reading a good book!

(3) Of course, the powerful star-studded casts.

(4) Aaron Eckhart’s interestingly moving performance as Harvey Dent, the gutsy and ambitious prosecutor/ Gotham’s "White Knight"/ Two-Face makes me wanna go watch Thank You For Smoking again.

(5) And the Christian Bale. Enough said?

Now people, why so serious? Ngeee.

Di antara kita terbinanya
Satu mercu tanda
Cinta yang setia
Meredahi masa meniti usia
Hingga ke akhirnya
Kuabadi cinta di hati ini

Right after the unsettling debate last night (It is unsettling! Although I must say that it is an improvement in keterbukaan media, bravo!), we karaoke-d to Jamal Abdillah and Awie, and as always, I made him serenade me with two of my all time favourite Malay love songs:

I don’t know what it is about this song that really gets me. Bukan nama aku Azura pun? Although I kinda like Azura the Movie (oh bite me!) and its entire idiosyncrasies. Hahaha. Mungkin kerana liriknya yang memuja wanita? Atau kerana suara Jamal Abdillah yang sungguh out of this world dan meruntun jiwa! Sesungguhnya had he not have the on and off relationship with dadah musuh Negara, he’d be a millionaire with a datukship to his name by now. Sayang seribu kali sayang. Moralnya: Stay away from drugs, people!

Ratuku is another one that I really like for its lirik yang memuja wanita dan tentunya, keberkesanan suara Awie. Meratap naluri. Sob.

So what's your meratap naluri Malay love song? Bola-Bola Api? Ngeee.

"Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first."

Hahaha good one, Mr. Ronald Reagan. It is a no-brainer that this is not in any way a political blog. Hence when I write about having great respect for a political figure, one shall not assume that I hold deep hatred towards his adversaries; I am after all, ehem, mostly neutral. Ngeee.

Nevertheless when I blog shallowly about my mundane everyday life, one shall not assume that I have no care for the socio-economic-politic situation in our country; of course lah I am concerned with the doomsday talk on the oil price fluke and the alleged crisis among the Malays and the vote-of-no-confidence-motion been thrown out and what not.

And when I blog about how much I enjoy reality TV shows (and that I just finished watching ANTM, Parental Control and Gene Simmons Family Jewel in a row) on Channel V, one shall not assume that I am not at all thrilled (and anxious I must add) to watch the much-talk-about debate tonight. Ngeee.

Making assumption, shaping own interpretations and forming judgments; we are all guilty of such. I for one assume and firmly believe that Brangelina newborn twins, with their parents’ perfect DNA, are undoubtedly heavenly beautiful (tiba-tiba?) Tapi tentulah kan? I guess we just have to wait for the twins’ first photos which I heard cost an unnamed US magazine $15 Million (see, I even know that! Teruk, bukankah?) Cheist, the twins are barely days old they can’t even open their eyes yet and already they are making that amount of money!

I've learned to love myself in spite of me
And I've learned to walk the road that I believe

Finally! The world wide web at my fingertips, in the comfort of my own home! We were initially planning to register for Streamyx (but were turned off by all those hidden charges for installation fees and what not) when we heard about Celcom Broadband and its “Plug in, Log On, Resolve with Celcom Broadband, the fastest, widest broadband in Malaysia!” campaign. We went to the Celcom HQ (which is 5 minutes from home) yesterday and registered with the (unlimited) 3.6 Mbps package; RM499 for the modem, RM98 monthly, 1 year contract. As promised, 24 hours after registration, the service was activated and the Husband happily conquered the laptop and spent hours reading his favourite site. Ngeee. Anyways, now I am able to get connected to the Internet anytime and anywhere! So I guess you guys will be hearing from me on regular basis from now on. Woohoo! Hehehe.

Edited on July the 13th, on Ayin's 26th birthday:

"But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. And oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away" :)

~ Dinah Craik, A Life for a Life, 1859.

Here's wishing you a very happy birthday, my dear,
with lots and lots of love! :)

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing

We're considering Celcom Broadband.
I hope this will happen real soon!

It's holiday in Johor today.
Happy relaxing, fellow Johorean!
(Although holiday does not feel relevant to me nowadays.
Everyday is a holiday! Maaf. Teehehe)

Ever thine.
Ever mine.
Ever ours.

~ Beethoven~

Where do I begin? Lamanya lamanya! Saya amat amat rindu to pour my heart out here. Tapi tidak Sharel, saya tidak boycott internet, on the contrary, saya amat merinduinya. I do surf the net and check e-mails now and then at the Husband's office, but most sites are blocked there. Heh.

Anyways, for starters, I am still unemployed (by choice, if I must add. Ngeee). I so so love married life and all the responsibilities (dan tentunya kebahagiaan) it brings. I am a TV junkie. Yes, even worse than before. I could now basically be the ASTRO guide. I am truly addicted to rerun of FRIENDS, rerun of House, rerun of Desperate Housewives, segalanya di E! atau secara pendeknya, segalanya di channels 701, 707, 711 dan 712, terima kasih. Kadangkala 713 dan 714, untuk reality TV shows tentunya. Yes, I am a reality TV freak. Heheh. Oh, and SATC, Made of Honour and Hancock, go go watch them all! Suka suka suka! Owh dan tentunya, in case you're wondering, saya amat bahagia :) D'oh?! Hahaha!

Here's from Ayin's visit to our humble crib :)

Here's from my beloved parents' visit. Now that's a great weekend!

Till then, semoga saya dapat mengemas kini lagi dalam masa terdekat! :D
