DAY 20 – THE MEANING BEHIND YOUR BLOG NAME
Neurotically Speaking
Marlizaradzi.blogspot.com turned 8 on the 9th this month. 8 freaking years! For 8 years, I’ve been pouring out my heart here, rambling my thoughts away, sharing my mediocre anecdotes of life with family and friends. Wow, didn’t think it’d last this long.
Anyways, this blog was first named Marliza’s Heartbeat, which I thought was kind of cute. Ngeee. Back when I first started this blog in 2003, I was merely a law student and well, was young and view the world from rose-colored glasses. I remember changing the name to Marliza. Neuroticism. when I started my chambering. Then to Neurotically Speaking.
I can’t remember why, perhaps I just discovered the neurotic in me and as written by Shakespeare, "Do you not know I am a woman? When I think, I must speak". So that’s probably all behind the meaning of Neurotically Speaking. Nothing huge or life changing, I know. Keep on reading if you like what the neurotic have been rambling on for the past 8 years ;D
DAY 18 – 5 THINGS THAT IRRITATE ME ABOUT OPPOSITE/SAME SEX
Pheww. I’ve been busy today preparing for my Tuesday case and trying to reserve tickets for Lat the musical (Ticket2u.biz has this 3-days-reservation option, which comes in handy when your husband is a Datuk Seri uhuk uhuk uhuk T____T) so I’m just gonna cheat and divert you to this ENTRY for the list of things that irritate the hell out of me. Hehehe.
Oh on top of that, because I’m sugar and spice and everything nice, I’m gonna leave you with this survey list, on things most people consider as annoying.
Yes, telemarketing calls are irritating tapi aku selalu kesiankan mereka lalu layankan. I told you I’m sugar and spice and everything nice. Not! But just imagine kalau kau terpaksa kerja begitu. Adoilah. Have a good weekend, good people! Jangan irrittate sesiapa tau! Hehehe.

DAY 17 – HOW YOU HOPE YOUR FUTURE WILL BE LIKE
“Work in this life as if you'll live forever.
Prepare for the Hereafter as if you'll die tomorrow”
– Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Whatever the future holds for me, I hope in the end, when every single fraction of my life will flash before my eyes, it will be worth watching. Bring it on :)

DAY 16 – SHORT TERM GOALS FOR THIS MONTH AND WHY
(1) To be in Ipoh for my cousin’s wedding this weekend. Yes the left one on the Favourite Memory picture is getting married! How tua the three of us are now!
(2) To book a flight ticket home because Hubby had to stay longer in KL for a case. The never-ending dilemma: Firefly and its convenient time and departure place VS AA with slightly lesser price minus the convenience. What say you?
(3) To find reliable, affordable contractors to carry out our vision. We have big dreams with small pockets. Sad, sad combo, I know. But a girl can dream kan kan?
(4) To ensure the defects are rectified within the Defect Liability Period.
(5) To study for the novelty hearing that’s coming up next Tuesday. Well, OK it’s not exactly something new, but it’s new to me, and nobody else in the firm has ever done it. I hate being the one to set up the precedent. Sigh. Berusahalah!
(6) To brief a colleague on an application hearing that she may have to help me with. Alhamdulillah for helpful, understanding friends!
(7) To lose few inches of my unwanted spare tyres. Did Nora Danish really use the krim pati halia she is endorsing? I doubt it. I bet she doesn’t eat (dengki).
(8) To secure tickets for Lat the Kampung Boy Musical. I keep postponing this because Hubby has yet to confirm on his free dates (a Datuk Seri, he is) and this agitates me because I heard the tickets are selling like goreng pisang panas!
(9) To laze around on my 19th (+10) birthday; which reminds me, I have yet to submit my leave application for the 30th. Hey I don’t wanna solve other people’s legal problem on my birthday!
(10) To complete this 30 Days Challenge. I hope it has been fun for you to read my silly answers as much as it has been fun for me to do it. Never before have I been so committed about updating my blog! Mengkagumkan diri sendiri.
Such simple goals I am looking forward to achieve for this month. I wonder what the Sendai people’s short-term goals might be. To simply live another day, I guess.
For this simple life I am blessed with, I thank you, Allahu Rabbi.

DAY 14 - A TV SHOW YOU’RE CURRENTLY ADDICTED TO
My favourite TV shows are mostly seasonal. There was a phase of Hong Kong drama, phase of Japanese/Korean sappy love story, Gilmore Girls, Grey’s Anatomy, Entourage phase. But my love for 30 minutes comedy adalah dahulu, kini dan selamanya. My current favourite on TV is Gary Unmarried but I think the season finale was last Monday. Bummer! Oh I love Glee too!
But I’m just gonna answer this with my all time favourite, the one show that I’m addicted to like how bear is to honey, always and forever (memang over-acting): FRIENDS.
How can you not love these crazy people?
DAY 13 - A PICTURE OF YOUR FAVORITE BAND OR ARTIST
Once upon a time, there was a girl who was obsessed with Take That; she had all of their albums, collected all their concert videos and bought every Smash Hits that featured their posters. Yes, just like thousands other girls world wide, she cried when Take That split. She took Robbie Williams’ side for a while because Robbie was her favourite Take That. You know, the moody rocker of the boy band. When Robbie first got his beer belly, little by little her obsession subsided, and she grew up, never again was she ever obsessed with any other artist. In memory of her obsession, here’s a picture of the greatest boy band of all time (masih obses?)
Look how hot Robbie Williams used to be!
DAY 12 - YOUR CURRENT RELATIONSHIP
"A happy marriage has in it all the pleasures of friendships, all the enjoyment of sense and reason - and indeed all the sweets of life" - Joseph Addison
Exactly that :)

Arwah Tok Wan yang kejut solat Subuh dengan laungkan azan kat telinga sekuat-kuatnya. Yang tinggalkan nota atas radio berhabukku bertulis, ‘PLEASE CLEAN THIS UP’. Yang sentiasa segak dan wangi (he was always in shirts and long pants) lalu bila cucu busuk dan selekeh, mesti kena lecture. Philosophical lah for a 9 year old, sebab kena fikir mendalam sikit. Arwah Wan yang setiap kali hari raya akan ambil gambar close up cucu-cucu dia. Setiap tahun, without fail, he’d update the frames of cucu-cucu dia. Ini contohnya:
Arwah Wan yang sekali dia tempik, berlari ketakutanlah cucu-cucu. Jangan sentuh radio lama Wan. Jangan masuk bilik mekanik Wan. Jangan switch on sendiri fan dalam kereta Wan. Jangan berani naik basikal tua Wan tanpa permission. Jangan makan minum dalam bilik, sit and eat properly at the dining table. Arwah Wan yang sentiasa makan guna fork and spoon. Arwah Wan yang suka kutip other people’s junks and turn them into useful stuffs. Arwah Wan the watch collector. Arwah Wan yang tulis diary every single day, in the neatest handwriting ever.
Arwah Wan yang garangnya tak tahu nak cerita macam mana. Tapi Arwah Wan itulah yang semua cucu sayang sangat dan rindu sangat. I think in so many ways, he has shaped me into who I am today, and for that I am forever indebted to him. I miss you, Wan. Al-Fatihah.
I don’t have any picture of my parents’ crib here in my office PC so here’s a picture of the signage of the toll exit for you. Hehehe. Feel free to drop by if you’re on your way up north and be sure to request for my mom’s sambal udang, kari daging and kuih lopes ;D
