One picture is worth 1,000 denials.” - Ronald Reagan

The other day, my girls and I discussed on Whatsapp about camwhoring on Instagram (yeah, deep, deep stuffs we talk about). Most of us have camwhored at least once in our lives but I think there is a certain extent to how often you should do it. And unless you’re Fazura (and not even Nora Danish, in Nijoh’s opinion), every hour of your full face picture in our Instagram feed is just ermmm, never mind. Heee. Yea yea, I’m the one who subjected myself to your camwhorings by clicking the Follow button. But sometimes that’s just because I like you, or sometimes I kinda enjoy looking at your other artsy fartsy IG feed, or maybe sometimes I just need a source of entertainment.

Oh, oh, if you haven’t, go read Ijaicool’s entry on 'Tabiat Manusia Di Instagram'. Freaking hilarious!

I too camwhore sometimes (duh!) often with Hadi as my accessory and I don’t upload most of the pictures because I have low self-esteem about how I look. Sobs. The one that gives the most ilusi optik proudly makes it as the profile picture of this blog, tadaaa! But Fazura should camwhore more because she’s just so pretty. And Awal Ashaari should lessen his camwhoring activity simply because he’s a dude. I mean come on lah Awal, even Scha doesn’t do it as much as you do! But still, I haven’t unfollowed him because his life seems so interesting and yeah, celebritydom is one of the simple quirky pleasures of my everyday life.

Anyways, back to our Whatsapp topic of the said day, Elin suggested we all camwhore and appointed me to compile and assemble them, and behold, here’s what we came up with:

Hahaha! Camwhore overload! You can go and puke now.

To reminisce with my old friends, a chance to share some memories, and play our songs again.” - Ricky Nelson

In 2005, before graduating from law school, my girls and I poured our heart out on a piece of paper each, sealed them, buried them in a bottle which was entrusted to Aniz and made a pact to be reunited, all nine of us, 10 years later to read what we wrote together. We obviously couldn’t wait for 2015 and decided to do it this year. Since Far lives the farthest in Terengganu and she has 3 kids which makes it difficult to travel, we decided to meet up in KT. It’s 2013 Tahun Melawat Terengganu anyway. Heee.

It was a day trip, as many didn’t feel good leaving our kids behind (but not wanting to make it a family vacation); flight to KT at 7.00 a.m. and back to KL at 9 p.m. Far and her husband picked us up at the airport and we went straight to her house where we met the beautiful Iskandar boys and dijamu nasi dagang nan lazat.

Oh funny that Jaja missed her flight so she had to take Firefly to KT, which cost her a bomb! (We chipped in later to pay half of course) OK tak funny sebenarnya. But all was well as at 11 a.m., after a round of keropok lekor and batik shopping, we picked her up at the airport and all nine of us were reunited, weee!

OK this one is funny. We planned to surprise Ana and Elin for their respective birthdays (Elin on 28.12.2012 and Ana on 08.02.2013). We surprise each other on everyone's birthdays back in our uni days. So we had 2 Whatsapp groups; 1 to discuss the reunion and the other to discuss the birthday surprise. Little did I know that there was another Whatsapp group, which didn’t include me as they wanted to surprise me as well! Inception weh!

Look at my smug face. I thought we managed to surprise Ana and Elin; turned out I myself was part of the surprise. For the record, I am not yet 31! Next month, baby, next month! Eeek tua!

Elin purposely made me stand in the middle to resemble the Petronas tower. Damn girl.

The masterminds. I love you, girls :')

The pretty cake by Rina. You can find her on Instagram @canteksekali. It was my first time having a rainbow cake dan semua komen bahawa “rainbow cake is nothing but a colourful butter cake” adalah palsu belaka. This is seriously one the best cakes I’ve ever had in my entire adult life, masyaAllah. You in KT go order from her! She may not be the cheapest out there but her cake is just superb, inside out.

Then we went back to our room in Primula to chill and yes, time to open the time capsule! Our secret bottle!

Our secrets, read out loud. We laughed and screamed so hard every one of us lost our voice. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much my whole body ached. Yeah, it is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. True that, Ralph Waldo Emerson!

Then the usual gifts exchange. Far got a Coach wristlet from Ana. Talk about setting the benchmark too high. Yikes. See, Elin didn’t seem too happy to be getting the Gin & Jacqie goodies from me. Haha.

Later in the evening we went for celup tepung fiesta and ATV by the beach. It must be an ugly sight for beach goers that evening; a bunch of 30 years old ladies riding ATV, racing each other and laughing our heart out. Too bad.

I had the greatest time with them. I miss them girls so much. It’s true what they say about the truest friendship; it isn’t about being inseparable, it’s being separated but nothing changes. To another 10 years and more!

The reason my uni days were such a blast: my favourite girls, always and forever :')

"There is no more lovely, friendly, charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage." - Martin Luther

Do you know about the kind of friendship that grows together, albeit separately, without growing apart? I have that with my girls. We don’t see each other as much as we’d like to, but we chat every single day via Whatsapp and various other social medias, and we make serious commitment to celebrate the milestones of each other’s lives. It has been quite a number of baby showers lately but this time around, it’s a bridal shower and Dod’s the lucky girl!

Dod is supposed to be getting married end of this year but due to her father’s health condition, they decided to expedite the aqad date, and naturally upon receiving the good news, we immediately planned a surprise bridal shower. It was nothing huge but we had lots of fun talking, showering Dod’s with goodies, and catching up with each other, sans our family. It was just us girls (and one little angel), just like old times. Some couldn’t make it on the day but I think Dod had a great time nonetheless. See you girls soon on Dod’s big day!

Scrumptious cupcakes by Wondermilk and toppers by me!

The girl was expecting just to have a quick lunch with Aniz and there we were, waiting for her :)

Dod's a good sport as always. She donned everything we brought; the veil, sash, moustache and what not.

This girl could put on anything and still look gorgeous! Even a misai looks good on her tau!

Funny that some of the things Aniz and I bought are identical. Damn. Fret not Dod, bought you some La Senza goodness for your wedding gift, as requested and promised ;)

The bridezilla on the loose!

Bottles and booties, bibs and more! Let's shower the baby with gifts galore!

Our darling Naem is 6 months pregnant and a baby shower is always the perfect excuse for us to berkumpul dan ketawa tanpa henti. Dod intiated the plan, teamed up with the rest of the gang; naturally Jaja the KrakerBox Party founder was assigned to do the deco, me the Diaper Cake & Such kuli/boss for the diaper cake and Mazia the soulmate had to kidnap Naem for the surprise. It went awesomely well! The Farahs (Elin and Far) couldn't make it but it was so much fun nevertheless. Naem was surprised and she scold Mazia for not warning her to wear something cuter. Dod introduced us to her fiance-to-be, who is a lot of fun. I was in awe of Ana's beautiful mansion. The kids enjoyed the pool and the rest of Alysha's toys. I met Arman for the second time and well well, such a handsome boy he is now; the last time I met him he was still in pantang, he could barely open his eyes. We played games, exchanged gifts and showered the expecting couple with gifts. We talked and laughed and had such a lovely time. I miss them!

I baked the Quacky Quack Diaper Cake, a gift from us to our darling Naem!
Dessert table by KrakerBox Party, another of Jaja's awesome biz!
Dod introduced us to her fiance-to-be!
The kids had fun.
We exchanged gifts and showered Naem with some!

We talked, ate, laughed and Aniz practised her kuda kepang moves while my little boy was busy with the Crazy Donkey. It was an awesome day!

"The most beautiful discovery that true friends can make is that they can grow separately without growing apart." - Elizabeth Foley

Menerbitkan gembira :)

Last Sunday kawan-kawan perempuan tersayang and I held a baby shower for my Kindred Spirit, Far. It’s baby number 2 for her and this time around, it is still a mini Asril! (InsyaAllah) We didn’t get the chance to do one masa her first pregnancy sebab dia tinggal nun jauh di Kuala Terengganu sana. Jadi bila Ana ajak me to do one for Far and Far told me she’ll be coming down to KL, I immediately angkat phone and plan the details with the rest of the girls and alhamdulillah, dapat jumpa semua except Elin who couldn’t make it. Planning the baby shower is a piece of cake compared to kerja mengumpulkan perempuan-perempuan kesayangan yang sibuk-sibuk belaka. Pheww. But I’m so glad 8 out of 9 made it! Woohoo!

It was a blast as always. Familiar faces I love :) Venue and foods at The Apartment, The Curve were good, except maybe The Apartment kena place a mini fan up there at The Loft because at times, tengah hangat bergosip, tiba-tiba rasa hangat. A bit stuffy up there. Oh but the Baked Chocolate Pudding served with vanilla ice cream was to die for. I’m salivating as I type this!

In case you’re wondering, yes I went solo tanpa ‘handbag bergerak’ kesayangan iaitu Hadi. Decided that he’ll have much more fun with his Wan and Nenda daripada ikut Mama dengar gossip makcik-makcik. Hahaha. Alhamdulilillah, I got to spend some awesome, quality time with my friends. We talked and laughed and exchanged gifts and showered Far with baby gifts. So much fun. In fact, I was oblivious to orang sekeliling, seriously. That kind of fun :)

Anyways, I did the mini bunting, cupcake topper and wrapper, and yes, my very first Diaper Cake! Baked with lots and lots of love. Sila ke
SANA if you wanna see the rest of the pictures because I’m gonna talk about the Diaper Cake now. Kih kih kih.

This one, I call it the Blue Elephant Diaper Cake. This is a 2-tiers cake, boys theme of course, baked especially for Far’s second baby boy. The ingredients are:

Diapers tentunya, I used Huggies size M.
1 Growin’ Up polka dot hooded towel.
1 Luvable Friends ‘Thank Heaven For Little Boys’ bib.
2 pairs of wool socks.
1 piece of Carter's wash cloth.
1 ZARA Baby ‘IDOL’ short sleeve tee.
1 Mothercare ‘Daddy’s Superstar’ long sleeve tee.
1 pair of Russ Baby booties.
1 Coloria elephant vibrating rattle.
1 Coloria elephant wrist rattle.
1 Tollyjoy rattle.
1 Baby Kiko feeding bottle.
Snippets, ribbons and embellishments.
Lots and lots of love!

And guess what, lepas dah siap satu, rasa gian nak buat lagi so I’m thinking of baking for others. Jadi ya, bapak-bapak ibu-ibu, saya kini menerima tempahan diaper cake!

I assure you that I’ll bake you the best diaper cake I can, bersesuaian dengan budget dan kemahuan. 1 tier, simple cake? Tentu boleh dan tentu lebih murah! Mahu sertakan learning VCDs and books with branded clothing? Tentu juga boleh! Mengikut budget dan kemahuan. Or you can just give me your budget, and I’ll work around that. Fun tak?

Apa barang kasi your friends the baby hamper balut plastik beli kat malls? Mahal tapi bosan. Hehehe. Selain untuk hadiah for newborns, boleh juga order untuk jadikan the centerpiece for baby showers or of course, for babies’ and kids’ birthdays! How fun! Lalu marilah, order one for your friends’ or loved ones’, you’ll be sure to impress others!

Email me at jumjumatun@yahoo.com for any enquiries or to make orders! XOXO!

"If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it.” - Mary Engelbreit

I don’t see myself spending thousands of RM on a pair of shoes. Handbags maybe, but shoes? I don’t know. I don’t think so. But check with me again when I’m rich. People change. Maybe in the future, RM1-3K macam celah my gigi saja, who knows? Keh keh.

Speaking about change, I was talking to my Kindred on YM today and I told her, our darling Mazia sekarang bela kucing. If you don’t know Mazia, let me tell you this, she hates cats more than Bush hates Saddam. Haha overstatement sebenarnya. But yes, dia anti kucing. Not so much hate, I think. More like takut. Kalau tengah makan ramai-ramai at a restaurant, and we see kucing berjalan menuju towards us, we would definitely do everything that we can in our power to stop the kucing from coming near us, or else bergegar gempitalah satu Shah Alam dengan jeritan seorang perempuan. Catastrophe, I tell you. Hahaha!

But now, yes now, dia bela kucing. People change. And she has done exactly what Miss Engelbreit suggested people do. She has changed the way she thinks about cat. “Well I can’t possibly kill all cats, so perhaps, I should just love them. And make one my pet.” Hmmm. You’re a smart woman, Mazia! Hehe.

My Kindred herself, she doesn’t eat limau. Any types of limau. If she sees you minum air limau, lihatlah muka dia bertukar menjadi geli geleman. Tapi sekarang, she eats Sunkist oranges! Yes fellow friends of ours, Far now eats oranges! People do change!

I change a lot too, I think. I used to hate house chores. Ask my mom. But now I do it every day. So yeah, I still wish for a maid but I don’t hate doing house chores anymore. I like my house clean and kemas. Well, I have no other choice pun. Kah kah. Tak ikhlas nampak?

Well even babies change! My baby, who used to be so quiet and sleep almost all the time, has now grown to be a very happy, very becok (in his own languange lah) and very active 8 months old baby! Oh my oh my, how fast kamu membesar wahai anak.

And speaking of change, ingat tak ada satu cerita alih suara (Jepun, I think), the raksasa boleh bertukar-tukar bentuk dan bila dia nak bertukar, dia akan jerit bagitahu, like “Bertukar menjadi senapang patah!” Bodoh kan raksasa itu? Senyap-senyap sudahlah.

"Kenangan ialah suatu cara kita berpaut pada sesuatu yang kita kasihi, sesuatu yang sebahagian dari diri, sesuatu yang tak mungkin ingin kita hilang selamanya.”
– Diterjemahkan, dari siri The Wonder Years.

Ikea, The Curve, KLCC, Sunway Pyramid.

We are all angels with only one wing. We can fly only embracing each other.

It started out as a mundane Saturday morning; woke up early for his uncle’s majlis aqad, picked up the in laws, witnessed the aqad and yada yada yada. You know, mundane lah. Setelah selesai by noon, I was sweating profusely and couldn’t wait to get home, take a shower, change into something comfy and just chill and do nothing. Man, was I surprised.

Aku buka pintu rumah and there they were. My girls. Throwing me a surprise baby shower. And I couldn’t help but screamed my lung out, I swear I must have pissed off some sleeping neighbours. The husband said aku jerit macam rumah kena masuk perompak. Far’s baby son Umar siap menangis, mungkin terkejut dengan pekikan nyaring aku. Kah kah. But really, I was shocked macam apa! Kemudian biasalah perempuan drama jiwa lemah lembut, teruslah menangis teresak-esak sebab terharu.

Look, almost everyone was there! Elin, Mazia and Amy. Dod and Naem, from Shah Alam. Ana who flew from KL with her baby daughter Alysha. And my Kindred Spirit, Far, all the way from Terengganu. The only two yang tak dapat hadir were Aniz who is still in confinement, and Jaja, whose daughter was down with fever.

Apparently they have been planning this for about a month or so. And Hubby was part of the scheme. Funny how I did not have any idea about this langsung! It was truly an awesome, pleasant surprise. Thank you so much, girls. And you too, Hubby. You guys are the best! OK enough with the bebelan and on to some pictures.

OK here’s another one of the above shot, now with Far and her son ready.

Then I changed into something comfy dan lebih menepati tema. Tudung adalah semata-mata bagi tujuan bergambar. Kah kah kah.

How time flies. Tiba-tiba kami sudah/bakal punya anak/anak saudara. Terasa sungguh dewasa. Bukankah baru semalam kami were a bunch of teenagers berhingus di sekolah undang-undang?

Game time! The girls prepared some games with pressies. Fun fun fun time!

Ini pertandingan Teka Saiz Perut AM menggunakan benang.

Mazia won and got the pressie from Far. Elin got second place dan dapat hadiah from Naem. Far kalah teruk sebab dia ingat aku gajah agaknya, punyalah panjang benang dia potong. Cheist.

Ini pemenang game tulis-tulis. Something like the Boggle game; I give you 1 word and you’d have to derive more words from it, which naturally is my favourite. Too bad I couldn’t participate. Kah kah. The word was Iskandar (Far’s son’s second name) and Dod and Amy won the game!

Then we played movie charade. That’s Amy the shy game host.

Hubby (still clad in his baju melayu from the majlis aqad) joined in and did some dancing motion. Nasib baiklah ada wife dia boleh teka pergerakan dia and guessed the movie Shall We Dance lalu memenangi pusingan itu. But our team lost it to Dod’s team. They were good. Heh.

Kemudian majlis pemberian hadiah! My little one got a lot of pressies from his aunties! Tengok, masih dalam perut sudah disayangi sebegini. Hehehe. Say thank you to your aunties, little one.

Suka suka suka baju comel. Can’t wait to dress him up dalam baju-baju comel ini.

The rest of the day, we talked and laughed like there’s no tomorrow. Oh and eat as well, thanks to Elin yang sediakan and tempah all the yummy foods. Thanks to you girls yang sanggup datang dari jauh. Terima kasih sebab susah-payah plan the shower, I know planning and mengumpul semua orang is a hard work sebab semua orang ada commitment masing-masing nowadays. Seriously terharu, tak tipu punya. Thank you!!!

It was definitely one of the highlights of my 2010. Awesome, awesome day. Aku tidur senyum semalam dan bermimpi rainbow and butterflies. Ngeh. Thank you for everything, darlings.

You guys rock my world!
