A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart

Oprah was quoted to say this about her friendship with Gayle King: "I understand why people think we're gay. There isn't a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it - how can you be this close without it being sexual?"

Far and I have a definition for this kind of bond. In our (and Anne's--of Green Gable) culture, we call it KINDRED SPIRIT.
