Me Myself And I

Body issues. Tipula kalau kata tak pnh ade masalah dgn self image. Obses. Women do it all the time. But there is a huge different between 'tak puas ati&letting go' and 'self loathing&losing self confidence'.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), according to Marie Claire, is a mental disorder associated with self image- asek tgk cermin, or worse, avoiding it. Going to great lenghts to cover flaws. Seeking surgery. Asek mentioning the flaws. Excessive grooming. Becoming anti-social due to the flaws. Etc etc. So, do u suffer from BDD?

"Byknye mende kat muke." "Hitamnye rase arini." "I wish I could be taller." "Please go away, dear baby fat." Sometimes stupid and ungrateful thoughts camni datang. Tak bes. I love myself. There is more to life than merely being vain. If I have Beyonce's perfect figure, Charlize Theron's perfect skin, Jen Aniston's perfect mane, Lindsay Lohan's perfect smile, I'd have flawless image. But I am still not PERFECT. Sumoerg ade defects. I have learned that instead of whining endlessly pasal flaws yg Tuhan dah bagi ni,
we should count our blessings.

Despite constantly reminding myself to bersyukur, I sometimes takleh kawal diri. Sbb ada masa2 yang ideal body image terkesan ke atasku, ada masa2 jeles dgn pompuan2 cantek dalam tv and mag, atau mase2 PMS, and during these times, great girl friends like mine, helps. Avoid urself from toxic friends. The kind yg kalau tau kite benci rase skinny, die saje je cakap "Eee kurusnye ko skrg. Aneroxic ke?" or kalau tau kite hari2 suffer from diet, she will go "Sihatnye ko. Makan tido je ke cuti ni?" Woohoo jauhkan diri anda dari mereka.

I don't know where my writing is leading to. Haha. But since many mags are discussing on body issues this month, I felt compelled to do so as well. Haha. Well, as Aniz aforementioned, we know we are beautiful, and we need no beauty pageant or anything of that sort to prove it. Allah telah jadikan kite dgn kelebihan dan kekurangan masing2. Love yourself. Eat well. Flaunt your better facets. Self aceptance is crucial. Think beautiful!
