"Let the wife make the husband glad to come home,
and let him make her sorry to see him leave." - Martin Luther

I’m sure most of you ladies who made it to the recent BBW book fair got yourselves a copy of this book, right? ‘Cause it’s cute and was sold at only RM10! You may get the same title from your regular bookstore at a whopping retail price of RM65! Phewww that’s capitalism for you.

Anyways, did you know that in the 1930s, there was this American psychologist who devised a little something named Marital Ratings Scale, whereby wealthy men could rate their wives by awarding plus or minus points for their behavior? Yes you read that right, a freaking rating scale! Such pressure! Hahaha. A wife who does not show enthusiasm during you-know-what will get deduction of 10 points while 10 bonus points will be rewarded if she reacts with ‘pleasure and delight’. I guess now we know that the 1930s wives must be the one who started to fake it, if you know what I mean.

There are so many other things I’d like to share from the book but this is certainly one of the best advice for husbands; Phrases, when repeated on a regular basis, bound to make for a happy marriage (take note, dudes!):

“Put your feet up, darling”
“That dress looks amazing”
“I'll do the washing up”
“Yes, that really is a bargain”
“I love you”
“Take my credit card”
“Ding dong - Tiffany calling!”
“The kids are going to stay with my parents. We're going to Venice for the weekend.”
“Let's get a takeaway.”
“You still look as great as the day we met.”

Best. Advice. Ever.
