God is the Greatest and to God goes all praise

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
SWEETHEART

Friday, October 20, 2006

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy,
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom

Senario I: Jam lebih kurang 10 pagi, di kediamanku:

Me: Boyfriend, kuih orang obesiti!!!!
Sweetheart: Haa??! (gelak berdekah-dekah) Comellah awak ni.
Me: Entah kenapa, jadi gemuk-gemuk. Macam awak.
Sweetheart: Hep!!!
Me: 2nd tray gemuk jugak. Tapi kecik sikit. Macam Bon.
Sweetheart: Heh?! Bon lagi kecik dari orang ke?
Me: Tak eh?
Sweetheart: Kalau macam Bon, comellah tu.
Me: Tidaaaaaaaaaaaaak!
Sweetheart: (gelak berdekah-dekah lagi)

Me: Ibu, 1st tray gemuk sangat. 2nd tray hangit pulak!
Ibu: Laa, macam mana boleh hangit? (That is Ibu's standard question: Macam mana boleh ......?)
Me: Cakap telefon dengan Daud.
Ibu: Cepat-cepat buang. Nanti sedih pulak.

Me: Boyfriend, everything is against me today!
Sweetheart: Laa kenapa pulak ni?
Me: Gaji dapat separuh. Lagi, tak dapat bonus raya yang diharapkan.
Sweetheart: Laa ye ke? Takpelah. Nak buat macam mana.
Me: Tak boleh beli kamera baru (frown)
Sweetheart: Kan Ibu nak kasi loan RM dulu?!
Me: Lepas tu, ni orang pegi post office nak pos kuih kat awak, tutuplah pulak!!!
Sweetheart: Laa. Takpe, sampai lambatpun takpe. Kalau takpun, kasilah masa jumpa orang nanti, ok.

KESIMPULAN:

(1) Semua orang spoil me. I am spoiled. I love being spoiled. I love to whine and having others to listen and to try to comfort me. Menyampah tau.

(2) Hari ini saya tak pandai buat kuih (frown).

(3) Tapi hari ini akan berbuka puasa di Restoran Nasi Kandar Pelita, which means, yummy-good nasik kandaq, almost as good as Penang's. And teh ais. Anticipation.

(4) Hari ini juga mungkin nak beli new camera, on Ibu's loan. Masih akan baiki the old one and then ada 3 options: (a) Beri percuma pada adik; (b) Jual pada Sweetheart at repair price + RM100; or (c) Jual di Cash Converter.

(5) Selamat pulang ke kampung, kalian! Selamat bergumbira!

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way

Pedophiles are the worst kind of maniac, kan? Sudahlah kau tu sex maniac, kau perlukan children to satisfy kau?! Yuck! How could one look at a child and think of sex? Yuck! You sick perverts! Who can we trust these days? Hampeh betul manusia sekarang. Aku rasa nak korek mata you maniacs, kemudian kelar-kelar badan dan lumur dengan air garam atas luka. Berkali-kali. At least 2 things we should remember when we have kids nanti: (1) Teach them to never trust strangers. Serious shit. Children are easy victims because they can be easily lured; (2) Never install web cam in their room. And be computer savvy yourself. It helps. But for now, to support the fight against child pornography, please oh please click HERE.

On another somber note, my baby camera is now undergoing a check-up selepas terhantuk di bahagian lensenya. As a result, I will not be having a camera for this raya! Of all the time! Ia perlulah rosak ketika mahu berhari raya?! My stuffs have this silly thing going on with them. Take my camera for instance, I was asking around di mana mahu trade-in kamera and I was vocal about how much I loved Yatt’s new camera. Kemudian, tiba-tiba, kameraku rosak! Selalu begini! Tahukah kalian apakah kepelikan barangan-baranganku? THEY LISTEN! Misteri.

Anyways, I baked 3 adunan(s) of tart nenas today, out of longing feeling for my baby camera. Although not baked dengan kasih sayang sepenuh jiwa, they do taste yummy good (konon). For the recipe, please view below:

TART NENAS LAT TALILAT TALI TAMPLOM

The dough (Bahan A):
3 cawan tepung
1 biji kuning telur
250 g butter
3 sudu ice water

The jam/isi kandungan:
Blend nenas with some water and then cook with sugar (agak-agak) sehingga kering. Lebih mudah, do what I did. Ever since my Ibu retire from baking kuih raya and I took over, I have been buying the jam! Easier dan sedap!

CARA-CARA: Gaulkan semua Bahan A sehingga membentuk satu dough. Kemudian gunakan acuan untuk membentuk. It is up to you nak guna acuan tekan atau spread. I use spread.

CAUTION: Pembuatan tart agak meletihkan terutamanya sekiranya anda adalah one-man-show seperti saya. Selain itu, selalunya akan ada semut yang cuba mendaki anda dan mengganggu kerana you will smell pineapplish-sweet (apakah?). Selamat mencuba!

The keynote to happiness within the four walls that make any home is plain, wholesome, well cooked food, attractively served

So what has Marliza been doing during her pengangguran period?

Mengemas rumah [CHECKED].
Menonton tv secara berleluasa [CHECKED].
Menulis kad raya on behalf of Marliza's family [CHECKED].
Mula membakar kuih raya [CHECKED].
Mula membakar kek raya [CHECKED].

Sweetheart asked me apakah nama biskut Cornflakesku itu? I did not know maka kini aku ingin menamakan my famous Cornflakes cookies (konon) as Biskut Kasih Sayang Sepenuh Jiwa. Because when Marliza bakes, she bakes with kasih sayang sepenuh jiwa. Kah kah. Konon. Hari ini Marliza ingin berkongsi on how to bake your own Cornflakes cookies and fruit cake (kerana itu sahaja yang telah Marliza baked pada hari ini). Mudah, seronok dan menjimatkan!

Biskut Kasih Sayang Sepenuh Jiwa

150 g Cornflakes
250 g butter
250 g tepung gandum
250 g gula
100 g tepung jagung
2 biji kuning telur
Sedikit nescafe
Sedikit susu pekat
Cherry for hiasan comel

CARA-CARA: Pukul butter dan gula sehingga sebati. Kemudian gaul sahaja bersama-sama bahan lain. Bentukkan kecik-kecik comel, tak perlu cantik-cantik. It is meant to be comot-comot bercabang-cabang. Bakar pada 175 darjah celcius selama 9 minit.

Fatty Fatty Bom Bom Fruitcake

250 g butter
180 g gula halus
4 biji telur
2 table spoon esen vanila
250 g tepung (diayak)
400 g mixed fruits

CARA-CARA: Mula-mula, pukul butter dan gula sehingga betul-betul kembang (sementara menanti, boleh menonton Bawang Putih Bawang Merah). Kemudian masukkan 4 biji telur, satu-persatu. Masukkan esen vanila. Sejukkan sebelum dihidangkan.

Selamat mencuba! (Untuk resipi lain, nantikan hari-hari berikutnya!)

Fame. It's more fun with your friends.

I just got back from buka puasa with my STF mates. Between kesesatan ke Kg. Bharu and animated conversations DAN gossippings and good foods at restoran berkapal DAN gelak-ketawa and kesesatan ke KL Sentral, it was nothing but a fun, fun night.

Anyways, hujung minggu ini, I fell in love. With HBO's very own Entourage. Yesterday I watched 8 episodes back to back, and today, another 8. Do I still need to tell you how much I love it? No, I don't have to, but I want to. I loooooooove it!!!! I love the star Vince and his unsuccessful bro Johnny. I absolutely love E. Cheh, even Turtle dan Ari itupun aku suka. Memang finger licking good lah. Dan aku sungguh gumbira apabila mengetahui Ayuni, Yatt and Cytot share the same sentiment. Yihaa, ada geng! Oh I so wanna be Vince's best friend! Can aah?!

By the way, people, it is confirmed. I got retained by HSK. Alhamdulillah. I don't know whether it is a good thing or not, but for now, alhamdulillah.

Nobody can give you wiser advice than yourself

5 things you should not have to endure during PMS

(1) Kisah-kisah yang tidak menyenangkan yang melibatkan anda dan gurauan kasar yang kurang enak didengar;

(2) Petty conversation with your sweetheart about weather which leads to you being tak puas hati (Read: I got furious with Sweetheart for disagreeing with me that it is not haze, it is air pollution. He said there are no difference);

(3) Having to prepare a submission for the boss when you are malas and already on your holiday mood and prefer to bake kuih and kek raya;

(4) Having to listen to your parents bicker about who should call and wait for the wireman; and

(5) Having to walk ke sana ke mari in your skirt and heels in the haze (yes, Sweetheart).

5 remedies for PMS

(1) Your loving, understanding boyfriend;

(2) Spending time with your (favourite) crazy colleagues;

(3) Listening to your mom speaks Malay with Chinese slang (Ibu does this when she is in a good mood. Like, almost all the time. She is half-Chinese anyway);

(4) Remind yourself that there are a lot of more, more unfortunate people around you (Read: e.g. recent tragedy of landslide); and look at you, you have a roof on top of your head, glorious foods, amazing parents, adoring boyfriend, great friends. Why complain? Ngeh ngeh; and *drum roll*

(5) Watch Grey’s Anatomy and drool over O’Malley (Yes, I like him. He is adorable and super nice and he totally adore Meredith), Meredith’s pretty hair dan pastinyalah kan, the balakness of Dr. Shepherd. Phewww.

Selamat mencuba!

The mind is the most capricious of insects - flitting, fluttering.

Maka emosiku sedikit kacau seketika. Tetapi terkenang what Sweetheart once said, "Janganlah tewas dengan sedikit kesusahan. You're stronger than you think you are". It is all in the mind kan? Maka, di sini, saya mengambil kesempatan mengucapkan kepada kalian, Selamat Hari Kesihatan Mental Sedunia. Peliharalah mental, emosi (dan iman) kalian! Heh.

If we love somebody could we be this strong?

The much anticipated event finally came; I went out with my girls today, for Buka Puasa and to celebrate Nijoh’s and Dod’s belated birthdays. (We missed you, Kindy!) The evening started with catching up and movie-watching. Sorry Naem, tetapi aku perlu membuat kesimpulan ini: Heart is a cacat movie; lakonan yang cacat, watak yang cacat, jalan cerita dan dialog yang cacat. Not cacat cacatlah. Cute cacat. Entah apa entah. The only things commendable about Heart are the OST and Luna’s pretty unwashed-look hair. After our cacat moment, we went Buka Puasa at Kenny Rogers as our initial plan to Buka Puasa at Chicken Hartz was crushed due to keramaian manusia. Anyways, as always, I had the best of time. This is actually our last gathering before Dod departs for JB next week to embark on a new journey in a new career in a new city. You will be missed, Dude! As you can see in the pictures below, the belated birthday girls look exceptionally comel dan bahagia. Hehe good time. So how was you weekends, people?

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday

Today I officially ceased being a Pelatih Dalam Kamar/Pupil Reading in Chamber of Puan SBS in HSK. Alhamdulillah, I managed to sail through my 9 months without any apparent blunder and/or much difficulties. I adore my firm dan hampir kesemua isi kandungannya. I have great respect for my Master and her (super) intelligence. I learned a lot, walaupun masih sekelumit cuma berbanding ilmu yang diperlukan. I made some great friends who made my time there more bearable and fun. Minus the memory of having to endure commuting by that stupido long-yellow and blue-'limousine', it has been nothing but a good time. Anyways, on my last day as a PDK yesterday, the fellowship and I went for iftar at Nandos Midvalley and naturally, I had a great time! :-)

Adults are always asking little kids what they want to be when they grow up because they're looking for ideas
