No road is long with good company

I became a free (wo)man on Thursday when we completed our final paper, Advanced Criminal Procedure II. No more studying to do!!! Yeay! I hope I did okay for my Final. I know I could have done better, given more time, and could have made less careless mistakes. But it is now over, I have tried my best, and I now leave it all to Allah. Thank you to all my inspiring lecturers, and my wonderful friends. (My friends have unknowingly helped making the journey worthwhile). These 6 years of reading law has been the best time of my life (maybe until better moments could replace this teehee). It has been great. And purely satisfying.

I celebrated my free-(wo)man-day by going for karaoke with my man. It was so much fun. FYI, I rarely sing in front of others (except Far of course), especially if the singing involves any sort of pembesar suara (microphone etc), and especially in front of people who CAN really sing. I am very very self concious about my singing. For instance, I never sing for, or even in front of King (back when we were dating) because he sings very well. My parents are very fond of karaoke, but I do not sing in front of them sekiranya perlu guna microphone, juga simply kerana they can really sing. I can sing dengan Far because I am so so comfortable doing almost anything with her. BUT now with my man, I CAN freely sing my heart out. I never have to worry being out of tune. I am simply very very comfortable singing for him, in front of him, with him, with or without pembesar suara. And here's the killer: My man can Really Really Really sing! His voice is so amazing, he could beat that Mawi guy anytime. Bottom line: Amat benar that love is the magician that pulls a man out of his own hat.

On the same day, at night, we went to Mazia's place for Nasi Briyani Open House. Her dad cooks the best Nasi Briyani. A lot of people came, including her beloved lecturers who practically become her family now (her Pa, Ma, Dad, Mak, they are). And there, Mr. Basir confirmed a kinda good news to me. Not telling. Teehee.

Yesterday I went on a window-shopping-spree with Far to 4 shopping complexes dalam masa 10 jam. In heels. Woohoo. Went to PKNS, SACC Mall, and later we took a commuter and went to Mid Valley where I bought myself a new, pretty wallet from Dorothy Perkins. And as if we were not tired enough, we took another commuter and went jalan2 at Jalan TAR and SOGO, and bought nothing. It was very very exhausting but those 10 hours (from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.) were some of the most quality, fun time I spent with Far. So so much fun. Still tired from walking and bercerita and laughing, 2 hours after we reached home, I went out for Nasi Lemak supper in Meru with my man, hungry and longing to bercerita with him. Dan natijahnya, today I was flat, and woke up late, itupun hesitantly.

Anyway talking about fun, the whole batch will be off to Port Dickson this Monday, until Wednesday for our trip. I cannot wait anymore. Sandy beach and good friends. What more could a tired-from-exam girl ask for?

Dari Sinar Mata

Keunggulan cinta dari sinar mata yang bergelora. Hati di taman berbunga. Satu impian satu harapan. Sudah pasti ada sebaliknya satu rahsia.
Engkau di mataku, adalah cahaya perjalanan ku. Terang, menyuluh segala yang tersembunyi. Lama kucari. Sudah pasti ada jawapannya kemungkinan itu.
Datang hampir senja sedang aku merangkak dan kehausan cinta itu. Kau hulur tanganmu membawa ku ke atas semula. Berdoalah aku kesyukuran.
Tercantum cinta jadi satu. Biar ku tebus segalanya. Agar diteman cinta yang suci itu.

Bon appetite with good friends chez moi

My family and I hosted a Raya lunch for my close friends earlier today. Been preparing the foods and the house with my dear Ibu since yesterday, up until this afternoon. It was exhiliratingly hectic, but I had so much fun playing Miss Host.

Thank you all for coming. For those who could not make it (especially Ayin dearie), I wish you guys were here. For those who came and really made my day, I hope you had fun just as much as I did.

Some of them who came. With my parents and I.

Left: People I love the most. Right: My man and Far's man sharing some stories outside our humble shack.

More of those who came. I really really like these people!

My lovely girls. Them, I love.

How would you know you weren't being a phony?

"Lawyers are all right I guess- but it doesn't appeal to me. I mean they are all right if they go around saving innocent guys' lives all the time, and like that, but you don't do that kind of stuff if you're a lawyer. All you do is make a lot of dough and play golf and play bridge and buy cars and drink Martinis and look like a hot-shot. And besides. Even if you did go around saving guys' lives and all, how would you know if you did it because you really wanted to save guys' lives, or you did it because what you really wanted to do was be a terrific lawyer, with everybody slapping you in the back and congratulating you in court when the goddam trial was over, the reporters and everybody, the way it is in the dirty movies? How would you know you weren't being a phony. The trouble is, you wouldn't."

What I Did This Raya

I'm back from my raya holiday! It was fun, dan letih juga, but mostly gembira.

The day before raya, before going back to kampung, Ibu & I did Ops mengemas rumah, baked cakes, memasak juadah raya. Pheww letih.

Our living room after the Ops.

Our 1st raya was at Ibu's side at Tapah. Pak Uda's family, Kak Nyah, Pak Su, Chik & wife, Mamak Nipah, all were there, except for Pak Lang's family, they could not make it sebab Pak Lang keje on 1st raya. It was meriah anyway.

After solat raye, and bersalam2an & bermaaf2an, we all went to kubur to visit kubur arwah atok, arwah opah & arwah opah cine (my Ibu's real mom who died when she was only 10, melahirkan Mamak Nipah). Sadly, the kawasan kubur was not at all kept by anyone. Belukar, pokok2 tak berjaga, pokok tumbang, keadaan yang menyedihkan. Sebab ada kawasan kubur baru, maka dah takde volunteers to keep this old kawasan kubur. My dad, my bro, and my Chik, dalam their baju melayu raya menebasla sikit2 sekadar yang mampu.

My family with Kak Nyah on 1st raya at Tapah.

2nd raya, we went to Penang (Bapak's side), together with Pak Ngah's family. So it was so much fun sebab ada my feveret cousins, Kak Yong and Siti. As usual we went to kubur arwah Wan, Tok Tam's place (where we got to meet everyone, sebab rumah Tok Tam memang port), Tok Lang's, Tok Wan Hamzah's, Pak Cho's. Tak larat nak makan. But at least on this 2nd day, I got to eat something else other than rendang and ketupat, i.e. laksa, nasi daging, kari terubuk. Kat Penang, all Bapak's siblings (Pak Long & family, Pak Ngah & family, Acu's family) pulak berkumpul. So much fun.

With my Ibu, Kak Yong, Siti and Mak at Masjid Teluk Ayer Tawar.

On the 3rd day we went to Pak Long's after we ramai2 pi pekena nasik kandaq. Bapak's feveret place at Halim's (his childhood friend) tutup. Frust gile die, luckily the nasik kandaq at the place we went to amat sangatlah sedap. Heh.

The same day we headed back to Ipoh, to Pak Ngah's where I finally got to meet Kak Yong's bakal fiancee. Stayed at Acu's place. And on 4th day, after breakfast, after melayan Irfan and the too adorable Izzati, we headed home. Home sweet home as always.

My Bapak with the adorable Izzati.

Alhamdulillah rezeki duit raya masih melimpah. Maybe no more next year. InsyaAllah will already be working by raya next year, maka bersiap sedialah wahai diri. Hafiz is my first cousin yang memberi duit raya! We were so jealous of him. Even his big bro, Haziq pun tak memberi lagi. Anyway, kami kanak2 riang yang masih menerima. Hope you guys had good raya (and good income) as well.

Raya was fun, but being home is heaven. And now, back to reality. Exam!!!
