Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside. ~Mark Twain

Good foods and good company never fail to make my day. Mr.D and I, together with Hazri & Wahida, and Bon & Zimah, went to Klang today to have the guys' favourite nasik daun pisang. We had fun, and nasik daun pisang (with the rempah and kepedasan and kemasinan) is definitely my kind of food. In short, (and in the guys' favourite phrase), "Layan gile." Hehe.

After few weeks of watching AF at random restaurants, tonight I get to watch AF in the comfort of my home with my Ibu & Bapak. Tonight I will get to take control of the remote, bole melepak at my favourite couch (maybe sambil menaip stuffs for my Partnership file), dan makan & minum free. The only yang I'll be missing is my partner sekepala yang menggembirakan. And for that reason, tengok AF kat mana2 tah with him is always so much fun (despite the stiffness of kedudukan di restoran & sound system yang kureng sikit). Hehe.

The thing about us is we argue almost all the time. Dan kami amat menyukainya. Riadah yang sihat. We are both VERY sarcastic and both are trained to think like lawyers do - which makes us very analytical dan yang pastinya, suka nak stand for apa yang kami rase betul. Makanya, selalu argue. But the other important thing is that we always arrive to a consensus agreement, which will make both of us (especially me hehe) happy. And I really like that about us.

And like Anais Nin (model slash a-disturbingly-bold-French author) said: "I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naïve or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman." :-)

Ok back to AF. I am an avid follower of AF but never once tulis pasal AF musim ni. Since this is the last week before final, tetiba rase nak tulis sikit. Most of my friends do not understand what is this big fuss about Mawi. Macam Jas cakap, Malays ni kadang2 pelik sikit. Dengar Mawi ex-Qari, terus buat prejudgment yang dia amat baik & warak. I used to complaint about him being interested in joining AF sebab biarla dia kekalkan kesucian dia tu. But then again, I am a firm believer juga that being an artist does not make you a bad person. Jadi biarla Mawi tu. Yang bermasalah ialah mereka yang fanatik melampau. Tolonglah stop gunakan kenyataan Mawi tu ex-Qari etc. Other Qaris would feel like they are being misrepresented. Anyways, I'd love it if yang follow Mawi gi finale (sebab Mawi mmg konfem dah pegi kan) are Felix (for his versatility & kejujuran), Marsha (I can't help but love this lady) and undoubtedly our girl, Amylea. She is so darn good!

Honours 1&2 (with the help of very supportive lecturers and our lovely new Dean) are organising the Law Dining this year and this will be a grand one sebab it is in conjunction with homecoming dinner (for alumni). Zul is the Director with Bart & Veeky as the Deputies, Dod is our Secretary, Wahida is the Bendahari, and Jas is the Head of Sponsorship Beureau. Other firms dibahagi2kan untuk buat kerja masing2 di bawah 'senior partners' masing2. My friends & I like this kind of stuff dan seperti biasa, (unlike some people's beliefs) kami (dan mereka yang lain) amat ikhlas dan jumpy jumpy (sonokla tu) nak menjayakannya. Teehehe.

Last week he & I watched Fantastic 4 which is not fantastic at all and I don't get what is so great about Jessica Alba!!!?? Yes she is very pretty but she CANNOT act! Sangat stiff dan sangat nampak macam berlakon (which is bad bad bad). Sungguh tak paham! And the movie itself amatlah cheesy, (although he thought that some scenes are quite okay becos he read the comic). Unlike X-Men and Spiderman, this movie is strictly for the comic version fans.

Oh have you watched Amytiville Horror? I just have to shout out that Ryan Reynolds is so darn hot!! Teehehe :P

Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to?
Do you know?

It has been a week since I last updated. A new (and my last) semester has started and I was unsurprisingly busy with classes and catching up with friends and tugasan2 dan (hehe) ngedate. Honours 2 is very much different from last semester, and I believe ianya bertujuan untuk truly cater kami before we spread our wings to the real legal jungle out there. Chewah. But really.

We celebrated Naem's birthday the other day (sebulan lebih lewat), and as usual I had a great time with my girls. Izyan yang mulia dan tak pernah berhasad dengki (lantas punya ramai sahabat) pasti sudi meminjamkannya if there is a possibility (insyaAllah) for a change in one lonely man.

Speaking of this particular manusie, mula2 ingat nak tulis reply atas tuduhan2 tu satu demi satu, tapi takpela tak jadi. Nanti awak sonok pulak kan that there's finally attention being paid to you? Kan? Takpela, macam Hanizah cakap, we will not stoop to your level. We are well. We have true friends. We like what we are seeing in our lives. We love Allah and we hope (and believe) He loves us as well. And we have happiness in our lives. We hope you'll find it as well. Okay, mamat?!

On lighter note, today we had gotong royong to clean up our office and the result was almost superb. Our office is now just like Mr.Rajes likes it: clinically clean. Hehe. Berbau harum dan cantik juga. Semua orang berkerja dengan bersungguh2, ikhlas dan had fun. Yeay, kudos office mates!

Sebelum kitorg bersihkan ofis (termasuk surau kecik dalam ofis tu) we had to berebut sembahyang kat surau di Business school hari2 sebab malas nak panjat tangga (surau Law school kat atas), and the thing is, amat sangat ramaila org yang nak bersolat di waktu yang sama (termasukla mereka yang suke berbaring2 dan duduk2 berborak di surau yang sempit itu). It was always so bersesak untuk solat that I frequently joked with my friends yang tetiap kali nak semayang Zuhur is like a jihad. Hehe. Takdela tahap tu. It's just me being an exaggerator. Heh. Tapi kesimpulan baik yang kita dapat ialah (in Far's own words): "Makin ramai orang yang bersolat sekarang ni." Alhamdulillah.

So I found out that Encik Adlan reads my blog and knows about 'angels' and my Penang trip and even thinks he knows who my Mr.D is. Hehe. Tekala Encik Adlan, it might not be betul. Heh. And if you are reading it now, "Hi Encik Adlan!"

In less than a month, my best friend is going to be engaged to be married! I am so so happy for both of you! I love you, sahabat! And happy belated birthday too!

And for mamat yang melabelkan manusia lain sebagai "manusia intelek tapi otak tinggal dalam lubang jamban", juga kepada mereka2 yang love to be inspired, always remember that "Those who wish to sing will always find a song." Till next time!

Sepanjang jalan kenangan

Beautiful view from our hotel room in Penang Road

Everytime we go to Penang, it is a MUST to visit my parents' childhood places and especially their so-called dating spots, like Ibu's favourite stall in Chow Rosta Road selling the famous cucoq udang & sarbat kelapa and Bapak's favourite nasik kandaq stalls. Going to Penang is always so much fun.

This time around we went to Penang for rombongan meminang bagi pihak adinda lelaki Ibu (congrats, Mamak Nifah!). So it was funner as I was in very good company. My Ibu's 3rd bro, Pak uda brought his big family with him and it was a great fun entertaining the kids. My Bapak & my Pak Uda have been friends ever since they were kids and so they are more than just ipar, they are very good buddies. Jadi sepanjang kami berjalan2, kami asek terjumpe kawan2 lama mereka bersama termasukla mamak2 nasik kandaq tu: kawan2 sekolah, kawan2 berek polis, kawan2 bola. Sangat sweet sebenarnya.

Dan setiap kali kami ke 'dating spots' ibubapa kami, cerita2 sama akan keluar, like: "Bapak kalo gi dating mesti bawak RM10 letak dalam poket baju bagi Ibu nampak. Show off.", "Bapak tetiap kali mesti bawak Ibu makan roti canai and minum horlicks kat kedai feveret die" (unfortunately kedai tu dah tutup), "Kalo Ibu sampai lewat camana pon bapak mesti senyum je" etc etc, and the thing is that, we never get tired of their 'love stories'!

Sure, like every other married couples, Ibu and Bapak fight all the time, Bapak with his quick temper and Ibu with her mood swings, but I believe those silly little fights only make them stronger. Like some say, those that can't break us will only make us tougher. Sometimes my parents are so much in love, and sometimes they just settle in loving each other. And like Morrie says, loving each other is the only thing God asks from us :-)

My dream house

And everytime we go to Penang, Bapak will bring me to jenguk2 my dream house (refer to above pics) in Tanjung Bungah. A beautiful banglo (dan hanya ada 6 buah of the same pattern) painted with my favourite colours like ivory, beige, brown, peach, and the best feature of the house is mostly the view. It is actually a beach house fronting Tanjung Bungah beach. Simply spectacular. Maybe someday...
